چکیده

Clifford algebras have broad applications in science and engineering. The use of Clifford algebras can be further promoted in these fields by availability of computational tools that automate tedious routine calculations. We offer an extensive demonstration of the applications of Clifford algebras in electromagnetism using the geometric algebra G ≡ Cl3,0 as a computational model in the Maxima computer algebra system. We compare the geometric algebra-based approach with conventional symbolic tensor calculations supported by Maxima, based on the itensor package. The Clifford algebra functionality of Maxima is distributed as two new packages called clifford for basic simplification of Clifford products, outer products, scalar products and inverses; and cliffordan for applications of geometric calculus. 1 Department of Environment, Health and Safety, Neuroscience Research Flanders, IMEC vzw, Leuven, Belgium 2 Center for Research on Integrated Sensors Platforms Carleton University Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Spinor representations of Uq( ˆ gl(n)) and quantum boson-fermion correspondence

abstract This is an extension of quantum spinor construction in [DF2]. We define quantum affine Clifford algebras based on the tensor category and the solutions of q-KZ equations, construct quantum spinor representations of U q (ˆ gl(n)) and explain classical and quantum boson-fermion correspondence. I. Introduction. The independent discovery of a q-deformation of universal enveloping algebra o...

Constructions for Hadamard matrices, Clifford algebras, and their relation to amicability / anti-amicability graphs

It is known that the Williamson construction for Hadamard matrices can be generalized to constructions using sums of tensor products. This paper describes a specific construction using real monomial representations of Clifford algebras, and its connection with graphs of amicability and anti-amicability. It is proven that this construction works for all such representations where the order of th...

Derivations on Certain Semigroup Algebras

In the present paper we give a partially negative answer to a conjecture of Ghahramani, Runde and Willis. We also discuss the derivation problem for both foundation semigroup algebras and Clifford semigroup algebras. In particular, we prove that if S is a topological Clifford semigroup for which Es is finite, then H1(M(S),M(S))={0}.

It is a well known fact from the group theory that irreducible tensor representations of classical groups are suitably characterized by irreducible representations of the symmetric groups. However, due to their different nature, vector and spinor representations are only connected and not united in such description. Clifford algebras are an ideal tool with which to describe symmetries of multip...
